Autumn at the Union Square Market
Cold weather is a mixed bag for the produce enthusiast. There are definite limits to my locavore enthusiasm when the temperature drops. Still, it's hard for me to remain unmoved by the glorious autumn displays at the Union Square Farmers' Market. Here are some highlights:
Seasons do change. As I was leaving for market last Saturday my wife yells out, "enough with the salads, I need stews, roasts, soups." Fighting off the chill. We are fortunate in Santa Barbara to have extended growing seasons for local produce, but there are seasons. Thanks for the look at your fall color.
